Fiscal Year 2015 Ends

Fiscal Year End report:  IRM resettled 167 refugees in Fiscal Year 2015 with over 40 of those arriving in September.  Although the majority live in New Bern, a few went to Jacksonville, Greenville, and Morehead City where they had friends or relatives.   They came from Burma; Cuba; Colombia; Afghanistan; Iraq; Somalia; and Vietnam.  Average family size was 2.5.  All became self-sufficient through employment by the end of 6 months.  The average number of days from arrival to job placement was 75 and job placements included factories, poultry plants, a hotel   Education ranged from no formal education to college degrees.
